Frequently Asked Questions

How often should I change my oil?
Today’s vehicles can often go 5,000 miles between oil changes. Older vehicles, pre-2000, usually require an oil change more frequently, around 3,000 miles.

Should I use synthetic fluids?
The answer to that depends on HOW you use your vehicle and how long you plan to keep
it. For example, if you tow a trailer or boat, have frequent stops and starts (taxi-mom’s) or use under extreme conditions, then yes, synthetics are for you.  Please ask us which is the best choice for your vehicle when you come in.

How often should I rotate my tires?
We tell our customers to rotate their tires at every other oil change or every 7,500 miles, which ever is easiest to remember. Tire rotation will ensure that you get the most out of your tires.

Do I need an appointment for a Smog Check?
Walk-ins are welcome, no appointment necessary.

Are you a test-only station for Smog Checks?
We are a test and repair station.

Should I ignore my check engine light?
NO! The check engine light is your computer telling you that there is a problem with your engine or electronics. Only a certified automotive technician can accurately diagnose the problem utilizing their professional testing equipment. A minor problem can quickly lead to a major problem, so do not delay in getting this checked!

Can you service my vehicle if it is still under the manufacturer’s warranty?
Yes, we can do regularly scheduled maintenance on your vehicle without voiding the manufactures warranty. We cannot, however, do manufacturers warranty repairs, such as a recall item. You will need to see the dealer for these.
